More Cards and Coupons

Well, it's another beautiful day here in the Flatlands. It's warm, but not too hot, and there's a gentle breeze rustling the leaves in the trees. Danielle's had a lot of rain lately and I'm not willing to trade weather, but she's definitely welcome to come visit and enjoy our's, lol. It could be like this every day of the year and I'd be content.

Speaking of fantastic weather, Danielle made this gorgeous card that makes me think of sunshine, butterflies, and flowers dancing in the breeze. The stamp set is by Stampin' Up as are the chalks she used to create the fabulous colors in the bird and garden. For those that don't know, the colors in the Stampin' Pastels set coordinate with the Stampin' Up colors. I also adore the patterned paper she used on this card. The blue is so rich, and it reminds me of the silk wallpaper at my granny's house when I was a kid. **I'm jumping in to add some of the deets on the card, I didn't fill Veronica in very well. The stamp set is a retired one from Stampin' Up called Garden Collage, I bought mine off ebay. It's difficult to tell from the lighting, but the card is done in Natural White, So Saffron and Bazzil Navy. The patterned paper is from Chatterbox and I love the pattern.** Anyway, here is the beautiful card:

I also have a card that I made. The stamps are from the Blooming with Happiness set by Stampin' Up, and the gorgeous patterned paper is by Chatterbox. I think Chatterbox is among my paper favorites now and I have to give a HUGE thanks to Danielle for sending me some! Thanks so much, Sis (though for all you do, thank you seems so inadequate)! Hmmm, where was I? Oh yes, the card, lol. The dress is adorned with Sweet Pea Flower Soft and the flowers are by Prima (and I'm wishing I had all this kind of info on Danielle's cards, too). So here it is:

And now, I'll let you all in on a little secret. I didn't have a pink ink pad to stamp the phrase with, and to keep my marriage a happy one (and not make my husband mad) I really can't just go buying each color I'd like. Danielle had shown me how to color a stamp using Marvey markers when I had visited, so that is all I did to stamp the phrase. Cheap and easy. Oh, you knew about that, lol? My girls and I were so thrilled by it that they actually spent close to an hour yesterday coloring and stamping, coloring and stamping. It was odd, like the aligning of the planets, to have them all at the table and quietly engaged. Of course some of my wood mounted stamps will never be the same.

So, that's about it before I go, but of course we can't forget the sales and coupons! Elzybells is having a sale beginning tomorrow, August 3rd. I'm not sure on the details like how long the sale is for or what's on sale, but make sure to check it out the first chance you get. There are some really awesome stamps and stuff there. And to kick off the sale, if you spend £35 ($59 USD) or more between August 3rd and August 7th, you receive free WORLDWIDE shipping.
